Spring Sign-Ups

Spring 2012 sign ups are scheduled for the following dates and times:

Wednesday, January, 11 6:00 - 8:00

Wednesday, January, 18 6:00 - 8:00
Saturday, January, 21 10:00 - 2:00

We are always looking for volunteers to help throughout the league. We always need coaches, concession stand help and people to help with the signups.

New form has been added. The new healthy offering is string cheese!

Rec+ fields

Our Rec+ games are all played at Barker Fields at the Plainfield Youth Athletic Complex at 451 S Vestal Rd, Plainfield, IN.

Heading West out of Plainfield, go over the creek to Vestal Rd. Turn SOUTH on Vestal Road at the McDonalds and follow it around to the entrance.

Rec+ schedules

The schedules are still being finalized. Most teams will not begin play until after Labor Day.
The tournament has been moved to 10/28 - 10/30. Please make a note of it.
Check with your coach if you have any questions.

REMINDER – COACHES Meeting July 30th

Rec Players (U4 thru U10 divisions) will be contacted by their coaches the first week of August to let them know which team they are on, when the first practice will be, and other information. Practice the second week of August.

When do we play?

Monday- U6/ U8 boys
Tuesday- U4/U5 U10
Thursday-U6/ U8 girls U10
Friday- U4/U5 U10
Saturday U8 boys 9, U8 girls 10:30, U10 9, 10:30, 12

U4, U5, U6 and U12 boys divisions are filled.

WCSSF Spring 2011 HS Tournament

June 1-5, will be hosted by Plainfield. Games will be played at Plainfield Youth Athletic Complex (Barker Fields). Registration will take place on Tuesday, May 31st from 7-8 at the host field concession stand.

Lost and Found

There is a growing collection in our lost and found box. There are countless balls, jackets, water bottles, umbrellas, and even a chair. Please stop at the concession stand and ask to see the Lost and Found items.

weather guidelines

Please note that soccer is a game played worldwide. It is a Winter Sport in many countries. We don’t ask that of our players. However, it is played in rain, wet, and cooler temperatures in addition to dry, warm sunny days. Encourage your team to dress appropriately for the weather. Soft hats, gloves, sweat pants are all certainly acceptable to wear while playing, as long as there is nothing hard in this clothing which might injure the player or an opponent. Our guidelines are if the temp is 40 degrees or below we may cancel games that day and reschedule the entire days’ games. We will not play in lightning, and consider everyone’s safety first. (Teams must wait 20 minutes after the last lightning strike to take the field). We have a lightning meter at the concession stand, and the ability to watch the weather radar, so we can monitor the situation.

Soccer Season About to Start

Spring Break is here, and teams will start practice at the new fields on Monday, April 4th. Everyone should have heard from your coaches by now which day you will start practice. Weeknight practices will begin at 6:00pm. Every player should wear shin guards and bring a soccer ball. Be sure to dress for the weather – wear layers if it’s not warm: shirt, sweatshirt, jacket which can be added or removed as needed. Sweatpants, gloves, and a soft hat are all okay too if the weather is cool as long as they are completely soft.

No Field Day this season

Although we had asked for helpers for field day, as we’ve done in the past, the town is taking care of preparing the fields for us to use. We will not have a field day this season. Thanks to those of you who volunteered to help in this way. Enjoy Spring Break, and we’ll see you cheering your players as the season begins.

Mill Creek Summer Camp

The Mill Creek Optimist Soccer Club has organized soccer camps for three different levels with the UK International Soccer Camps, Inc. for this summer. So, mark your calendar for June 27-July 1. See flyer for more information.

Sign Ups Closed

Although we've accepted some late sign-ups to this point, we are drafting teams and ordering uniforms and won't be able to accept any other registrations this Spring. Recognizing that January comes early, and none of us are ready for the outdoor season, we need this time to prepare, and we're sorry if we missed you.
Please come back in June and register for our Fall Season, which starts play in August.

New Fields Update

A slight change has been made to the plans for the new fields (PYAC). Now it will be the kids that play for U12 down to U4 who play on the new fields.
